Business Logic:

Setting up the sales force: The application builds upon a typical sales network in the form of multiple Field or Sales Executives (SEs) working under a Sales Manager (SM) in charge of a city or region. However, the application is initiated by a group of Customer Contact Executives (CCEs) who do the initial groundwork of generating leads through telephone. The CCEs begin populating the core database by building upon a database of existing customers, or even a raw third-party database when entering a new region.

Setting up leads: The CCEs prepare detailed customer profiles by calling up database entries and recording customer interests or requirements into the application. For potential sales leads, CCEs schedule appointments, which are then forwarded to relevant sales executives through their Sales Managers after checking for SE availability and location proximity. A web-based interface allows SEs to view and print their appointments from any computer, for example in a cyber-cafe.

Lead follow-up: After his visit to a prospective lead, an SE accesses the application again and enters the transaction details. He also enters details of any other potential customers he has visited in the nearby region, which can be added to the database. These new additions become the ground for next round of sales lead generation.

Reporting: Standard and custom-configurable reports allow channel managers to track performance of individual sales executives under them. They can also track order shipment and payment status for individual customers online. Defaulters can be traced online. The application can also be configured to throw up valuable data on buying patterns of individual and group of customers.

Transactions: Once the business associates register themselves on the website, they can record their transactions on any scheme they are eligible for. They can enter their purchase records, track their account via options like total sales/purchases and accumulated reward points, enter claim for gifts and rewards.
